Our greatest strength lies in our collective power. Climate Action Now is committed to working with our allies to build a people powered, unstoppable climate justice movement.
Key to building collective power is addressing those forces that seek to divide us. Therefore we strive to treat each other with respect and to address racism, white supremacy and all other manifestations of the abuse of power when it arises.
Relationships are at the heart of organizing. Climate Action Now is committed to building a movement grounded in kindness and caring for each other as we seek to protect the ecosystem upon which life itself depends.
This work moves us to:
- Collaborate with other organizations and communities as, together, we build a powerful grassroots climate justice movement, uniting on principles of agreement and working through differences in order to respond with the urgency needed to address the existential issues we face;
- Rely on the power of grassroots organizing, seeking to discover a place for each of us to engage that draws on our strenths, lived experiences and shared values;
- Connect with people and organizations across the nation that align with our goals and principles;
- Honor the rights of nature;
- Choose campaigns and actions that elevate environmental justice and a just transition.
Collective action is the antidote to hopelessness and despair. Let’s join together to work towards the world we all yearn for.
The rights of human beings and the rights of nature are two names for the same dignity.
